Customer help line 08453 666 444

Any questions about phonestar 0800s, 0845s and 0844s?

Q: Will I have to install a new phone line to get 0845/0844/0800 calls?

A: Absolutely not. Your phonestar number is simply connected to an existing line; you'll simply receive incoming calls via both your original number and the phonestar number. And you can dial out as before.

Q: How much do my outgoing calls cost me from my 0845, 0844 or 0800 number?

A: You can't use the phonestar number itself for outgoing calls — they're only for incoming calls. When you make an outgoing call it's simply billed to the original number by your existing phone company exactly as if there was no phonestar number connected.

Q: How much do my customers pay to call my phonestar 0845 or 0844?

A: From a BT landline, calls to an 0845 will cost them 2p a minute in the day (6-6) and 0.5p at any other times. Calls via other networks may be charged slightly differently. Calls to phonestar 0844s cost your customers 5p per minute 24/7.

Q: How often can I redirect my phonestar number, and what does it cost?

A: You can login to our secure online portal, and change how your numbers connect at any time, at no cost.

Q: Can customers call the numbers from abroad?

A: Ofcom has requested all international carriers to make these numbers dialable from overseas. The service relies on local international phone companies to implement this capability, however, so at the moment phonestar can't make any promises. Call us for the latest on this.

Q: If I pay a phonestar service charge, does it go up each year?

A: We guarantee not to raise service charges for three years. After this, we reserve the right to increase them in line with inflation.

Q: What would happen to my number if phonestar should ever cease business? Would I just lose my phonestar numbers?

A: In the highly unlikely event of phonestar ceasing to exist, the appointed liquidators would sell all our service contracts to another provider who would simply take over phonestar's contact numbers and email addresses. Your phonestar numbers would work as before but you'd simply pay another phone company for your numbers. Needless to say, we have absolutely no intention of this happening!
